Facebook Tests a New Option Which Would Remove Page Posts from the Main News Feed

“Facebook is experimenting with a new, alternate News Feed set up which would remove all direct Page posts from the main News Feed and shift them across to the newly expanded ‘Explore Feed’, which would likely make it harder than ever for Pages to generate reach. Facebook’s News Feed chief Adam Mosseri said, ““People tell us they want an easier way to see posts from friends and family. We are testing having one dedicated space for people to keep up with their friends and family, and another separate space, called Explore, with posts from pages.”

Instagram Rolls Out Live Guests Option to All Users

After launching a test of their live guest option with a small group of users back in August, Instagram has now announced that the functionality will be rolled out to everyone from today. Instagram said, ““Live video helps you share in an authentic way, but sometimes it can be intimidating when you’re on your own. It’s easy to add a guest while you’re broadcasting. Simply tap the new icon on the bottom right and tap “Add” to invite anyone who’s currently watching. Once they join, you’ll see the screen split into two and your friend pop up right below you.”

Facebook finally adapts to 4K video

After some super HD videos started popping up on the social network, Facebook now confirms to TechCrunch it’s testing 4K video uploads and viewing using the 2160p UHD-1 Ultra-High-Definition Television standard. Some Pages and profiles can now post 4K videos to Facebook, as well as watch them. It’s been a long time coming, considering YouTube first started experimenting with 4K video playback in 2010.
